Paddy Greene’s Family Album is a collection of songs dear to Paddy’s heart including influences picked up in his travels Stateside, songs he learned from his family in Waterford, from Irish songwriters and the album also includes contributions penned and performed by his sons Willie & Jason, his daughter Mary, her husband Noel and their daughters Sadie and Ellie. A feature of the album is the interplay of the voices of three generations, giving the collective sound that comes best to families – a closeness of tone, timbre and feelling. The songs are enhanced by the tasteful support of many different instruments, a wonderful number of which are played by Noel Shine. The resulting recording has a warmth and palpable depth of emotion that goes straight to the heart and makes you want to sing yourself.
